When it comes to cameras that deliver outstanding image and quality video, Fujifilm X-T2 never disappoints their fans. It was designed to be compact and lightweight; and equipped with the latest sensor and processing engine.

X-T2 is the whole package; it has everything you need as a photographer. But just like any other cameras, X-T2 has its weak points. With this, best Fujifilm X-T2 accessorie’s review is designed as a solution to those weaknesses. Also to make the photographers life much easier

Best Fujifilm X-T2 Accessories

1.    Battery

The battery is an essential accessory for a camera. That’s why it’s recommended to use only the most reliable battery for your X-T2.

The compatible battery for X-T2 is Fujifilm NP-W126S Li-Ion Battery. It has a capacity of 1,260mAh and its approximate battery life for normal mode is 340 frames; while for videos are approximately 40 minutes for 4K video and 50 minutes for full HD.

One of the good features of this battery is it has an improved heat management compared to the previous model.

2.    Battery Grip

Getting that perfect shot takes time and patience. When you finally get it, the worst thing you don’t want to happen is having a drained battery. This is the reason a battery grip become a must-have item in your camera bag.

But for Fujifilm, a battery grip wouldn’t be enough for their X-T2; so, they created the Vertical Power Boost Grip VPB-XT2. VPB-XT2 can hold 2 batteries and with the use of an AC adapter supplied (AC-9VS) it can charge the 2 batteries at the same time for 2 hours, approximately.

Aside from that, VPB-XT2 has the following key features:

  • It’s designed with weather sealed and dust-resistant
  • It has an additional control available such as vertical shutter release button, AE-L and AF-L button, Fn button, focus lever and more.
  • With the additional battery, it can increase the maximum number of shots per charge and video recording duration which is (approximately) 1,000 and 30 minutes, respectively.

3.    Flash Speedlite

If there is one weakness Fujifilm has, that is their TTL and HSS flash. To solve that, Fujifilm designed EF-X500 that can rotate 135° left and 180° right and tilt from -10° to 90°.

Other key features of EF-X500 are:

  • It has a bounce card and diffusion panel.
  • It’s powered by 4 AA batteries.
  • It has LED and Autofocus Assist that can be used temporarily to illuminate a certain area where your camera is struggling to focus.

4.    Memory card

The supported storage media of Fujifilm X-T2 is SD Card (-2G), SDHC Card (-32G), SDXC Card (-256G) or any other storage devices that conform to USH-I and UHS-II standards.

If your work involves a lot of burst photography, the recommended memory card to use is SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-II. This memory card has a capacity of 64GB and speed rate of 300MB/s.

But if you don’t require super-fast speed memory card, SanDisk Extreme PRO UHS-I/U3 SDXC Memory Card will be the best option. This memory card has a capacity of 64GB and speed rate of up to 95MB/s.

Not because this memory card isn’t designed to have a super-fast speed rate, it still good to use for fast-action photography and maximize your workflow efficiency.

We chose these memory cards because SanDisk has a proven record of producing durable, weather sealed and reliable storage media. It’s a huge plus that it includes their very own RescuePRO Deluxe data recovery software that helps the user to retrieve their deleted files.

5.    Tripod

Every photographer has a tripod to keep their camera steady. If we have to pick one for X-T2, it will be Gloxy GX-T6222A tripod. This tripod weighs 1.4kg and made of aluminum alloy and ABS plastic. This tripod may be made to be lightweight, but it can support a maximum of 10kg.

Other than being durable, the GX-T6222A tripod has the following key features:

  • Its tripod legs are individually adjustable to three different angles: 23°, 55°, and 80°.
  • Its ball head is capable of a 360° panoramic and vertical movement; which is ideal for filming and landscape photography.
  • It can both support camcorders and cameras that weighs not more than 10kg.

6.    Disc Light Reflectors

disc-light-reflectors-for-fujifilm-xt2 If you’re a new in photography, one sign that your skill is leveling up when you suddenly have the need to buy a disc light reflector. For X-T2, the best option will be Etekcity 5-in-1 Portable Collapsible Multi-Disc Photography Light Photo Reflector.

This 5-in-1 light reflector has 24 x 24 inches (when open) height and length, and consist of 4 colors: silver, gold, white, translucent and black. When it’s folded, its size will be 1/3 of its open size; so, it will be easier to carry around.

This 5-in-1 light reflector is perfect for shooting portraits (with 3/4 length), medium to small still-life or studio setups and headshots.

7.    Shutter Remote Control

Shutter remote control certainly makes every camera users’ life easier. No more running wildly to your group and pose because you only set your camera 10 seconds, or get blurry groupie photos because your hands couldn’t stop shaking when you shot it.

For X-T2, the ideal option for shutter remote control is Pixel Shutter Remote Control. This shutter remote control is easy to use and carry as it weighs 1.92oz with a cable length of approximately 120cm.

To install it, turn off the camera first then open the jack cover. Insert the jack plug carefully and safely. Once you check that they’re properly connected, you can turn on the camera and start shooting.

When it comes to the controls, it works by half-pressing the shutter release button and starts the camera’s auto-zoom system for the subject to stay in focus. To shoot, press the shutter release button.

If you want to lock the shutter, you can do it by pressing the shutter release button, move it forward and lock the camera. This is usually done for continuous shooting or long exposure.  To unlock it, just press the shutter release button, push it back and release the shutter button.

8. Screen Protectors

Buying a camera with an LCD screen is like buying a smartphone too. Its screen needs to be protected at all times.

Camera screens are not that cheap nowadays. Certainly, a screen with a scratch doesn’t look good either. That is why a screen protector is an important Fujifilm X-T2 accessory. Luckily, there is a lot in store for you.

  • Anti-Scratch Tempered Glass Film

Say goodbye to intentionally or unintentionally made external scratches to your camera with this 0.3 mm thick real glass film. With its 9H hardness, rest assured that any future damage to your camera’s screen is well prevented.

It is very clear in appearance and has a minimal reflection. So this item is also very pleasant to your eyes. Plus, this glass film attached to the screen never bothered the high sensitivity of the screen. Thus, you are ensured that the useful functions are maintained available at all times.

  • Expert Shield Crystal Clear

It’s not that difficult to put on because it is already pre-cut to the size of your screen as you order. There is a great clarity as it lies flat to your screen.

Amazon is so sure of this product’s no-bubble, no-scratch and high-quality guarantee that it is even available at a lifetime warranty.

  • Optical Glass LCD Screen Protector

This product is also applicable to Fujifilm XT1 too. So if you have two cameras, either of the two models, it is wise to avail of this product, because it is sold in a set.

The set includes two pieces of optical tempered glass screen protector, a hot shoe cover protector, and some cleaning tools.

The 2.5 D round edges of the glass is perfect for these models. Also, for those who like it thin, this is for you because the screen protector is ultra-thin at 0.01-inch thickness.

Remember to always fit those protectors properly so that they will last longer. Should you want to remove it, simply use a good sticky tape put in one corner and pull. This is to avoid unnecessary damages to the screen.

Also before fitting a screen protector and get yourself anxious about being over with it, make sure that the screen is well cleaned and properly prepared beforehand.
